Her specialty is collaborating with doctors and other health care professionals to speed patient recoveries and reduce anxiety. Recently, Gail founded and directed one of the nation’s largest hospital-based Integrative Medicine departments, growing it to over 60 practitioners. Gail is a compassionate expert for those on one-of-a-kind healing journeys. She helps people transform their lives through the power of their minds.

Gail’s Story

Gail had a defining moment on her sofa years ago. Alone in her peaceful home after dropping her kids at school, her heart was racing. After dealing with a series of upper respiratory infections and continuous back pain, she had just quit the high-pressure business job she had successfully worked at for years.  And yet, here she was in her first week of her “calm” new life with a racing mind. She was frustrated to realize that the job she thought was her major stressor may not have been the cause of her tension and anxiety.

As luck would have it, the first Oprah shows that Gail ever watched with her new schedule featured a series of mind-body experts. She tuned into as many episodes as possible, soaking up guests like Carolyn Myss, Depak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and more. Everything they talked about really resonated. So, she began meditating, learning yoga and devouring books on these topics. Low and behold, she became calmer and felt more balanced. Even her young children commented on her softer nature.

Around this same time, a dear friend who lived a mile away developed metastasized breast cancer. This friend wanted to leave traditional medicine because she felt she could not withstand chemotherapy and radiation all over again. Being a good doctor’s daughter, Gail thought that if she could calm her friend down it would help her to return to her doctors. So, they did yoga and meditated together. Gail also took her friend to hypnotherapy and Reiki appointments. She researched nutrition and restocked her friend’s kitchen with wholesome foods. Her friend then became less anxious and re-entered allopathic medical care.

Gail became so fascinated by all of this, she learned hypnosis and guided imagery and then studied energy balancing and Reiki. Although she only intended to use these skills on family and friends, more people started coming to her for help. Gail then developed a small practice of clients ranging from cancer patients to teens with performance anxiety. She went on to complete a graduate program in Complementary Medicine and Wellness. A large hospital system then heard of her background: education, business experience and patient experience and offered Gail the chance to create, establish and run an Integrative Medicine program for their hospital. After leading this enriching effort for several years, Gail is now once again happily running her own practice for clients and doing speaking engagements. Thanks, Oprah!
